Doll History

This Pleasant Company Doll Samantha is one of the Pleasant Company/American Girl historic line of dolls. She has the white body making her more collectible. The older dolls like this did not have body tags. The doll original owner put marker stain on face when she was young. The marker on the left leg was made by her daughter. She gave it to me to bring her back to life. She wants to display her. So I gave her a make over!

NOTE: I use, non-toxic, odor-free, environmental friendly, organic cleaning products. These are expensive but the results are FANTASTIC as you can see. I also use eco-friendly and odor-free hair product, they too are expensive but the results are well worth it as you can see. I use special curler to curl the hair. I DO NOT USE regular curlers.

Before

Major Problems:

  • The entire doll had a wretched odor. I cannot describe the smell.
  • Hair was stiff, smelled awful, very frizzy-out of control and had many tangles.
  • All of her limbs were loose and she could not stand on her own.
  • She had NEVER been cleaned, vinyl smelled like the hair and clothes.
  • Doll had a lot of scuffs and marks throughout her arms and legs.
  • Her face had a few shiny marks and a old faded permanent marker stain.
  • Her left leg had a huge permanent marker stain. This stain was a year old.
  • Her hair was cut by the owner when she was young.
  • After

    Bringing her back to life!

Total time to restore: 6 weeks (due to deep staining & odor)

  • All shine marks removed.
  • Doll is super clean!
  • No more odor!
  • No more scuffs or marks.
  • White body is clean. All stains removed.
  • Permanent marker stains removed.
  • Original stuffing, cleaned, deodorized and put back in doll.
  • Original string, cleaned, deodorized and re-strung.

A very HAPPY customer! She remembered how Samantha looked. When she pulled her out of the box. She said, "The doll look like she did when she pulled her out of the original box."

    Her Feedback

I cannot thank you enough for restoring my doll. To see her as she was, when I got her in 1988 brings back all the fond memories I had for her. I want your customers to know how professional you were, your knowledge of the dolls was outstanding. I hope you use this for your feedback. You did a great job. I'm very happy. Sincerely, Barbara
